LET IT BE KNOWN (SUNSET ON OUR PROTEST)

It was just few days we clocked 60
It's obvious the country's destiny is dark and Misty
Taken aback by these old politicians
Playing tricks on us like a silly magician.
The youth have been accused of being lazy and not ready,
But they proved everybody wrong by standing up to ask for their rights.
Peacefully, slowly and steady
Gradually, the needy moved against the greedy.

Let it be known, that the youth demanded from it's government accountability and social justice
They stopped watching Netflix and hit the streets
They cried out in one voice, knowing that the country is there's with no choice.
End Police brutality, End Bad governance, End Corruption all in a metaphor of #EndSARS.
Let it be known that the protest was organized and peaceful
Demanding the government to do the needful
It span on for 2 weeks, but our government is greedy and  just too weak.
To our agitation they were not ready to listen, all they care about is the revenue they are loosing.
So they send in thugs to infiltrate and disrupt
Giving reasons to make use of Military force.

Let it be known that on 20th October 2020, the army's crocodile smiled.
In Lekki, on unarmed protesters the Soldiers were shooting from a mile.
They shut down the lights aiming to take our lives.
Pandemonium at the toll-gate, while the youths stood their grounds
Singing the national anthem also waving the country's flag.
It was a black Tuesday, they leave behind sorrow, tears and blood
They drenched the Nigerian flag with her tomorrow's future blood.

Let it be known that this government is a coward, they negotiated with terrorists, but refused to negotiate with her youths.
It was a planned massacre, they imposed an emergency curfew, they waited till night and shutdown the lights.
They refused ambulances access to help
They carted away our fallen heroes in their shelves.
Now; they denied it never happened, obviously our future has been traded, I'm so saddened.

Tell them the Sun will rise again and the youth will take their rightful place.
Never again will we be silenced #SòròSoke
Never again will we allow "kakistocracy" a system where the government is run by the worst of us to lead the best of us.

Let it be known. ✊✊✊

MISTY AT SIXTY

Cloudy day it is, another day to retreat
Old and rickety the old lady is
A life unfamiliar, a living so similar
A future uncertain, a risky bargain
An independent but dependent woman
In togetherness, Love in a misty comma.

Our mother is all that we have
Beautiful she was with with her two big breast
Enough to satisfy our longing, Full of milk and honey
She was attractive and smart, the choice of many men
She was fruitful and productive a mother of 36 children.

She invested love into her seed with her full chest
Thinking when she grows old she can probably have rest
But rest is far, not when the children are at loggerhead.
Siblings with no love, seeking attention from mama above
They are mostly from different tribe
I guess our mama slept with different men.

Sweet in the middle they say, she has been defiled at the center.
Every man she ever dated, Hausa, Igbo, kanuri or Yoruba, it really doesn't matter.
They all come with Sweet talks to deceive the family member
They arrange for deceptive palliative,  they even dance at the party rally
They come in their regalia, an agbada full of stolen dollars
With the intent of stealing more, fooling their myopic followers.
I remember well the last man she dated
He raped her severally in our very presence
Sucked rigorously on our mamas breast
Like every other, he puts his fingers thrusting in between her sweet cookie jar
Taking her on hardcore ride, in different crazy style
Later ejaculating into her semen of hatred and violence
Disrupting her system with an evil DNA
Now mama had to lie to our neighbor everyday on NTA.

I remembered the last time she clocked 50
What I felt for our mama was much a pity.
Men roll out drums and she danced to shame.
Now that she's 60, her condition is even worse and risky.
It doesn't seems she can see clearly, she's so vague, rickety and misty
She thought she was doing her children some favor by dating these men of no valor
Men that disrupts her body system through corrupt practices
Same system she's breastfeeding to her 36 children
Through Federal character that is a big illusion
Yet they lie that EFCC could be the solution.

Arise o Compatriots
How can we save our mother from these evil vultures
Who sees her as a harlot and rape her day by day in our parlour through different culture.
Who will save her from this nightmare
A nation full of insurgency, ethnicity and religious divide
Massacre in every state, crime on the increase as the economy nose dive.
Oh God of creation, direct our noble cause
Guide our country aright
Don't let the labour of our heroes past to be in vain
Help us to build a nation where peace and justice
shall reign.
