MY QUEEN, MY JEWEL, MY GIFT

Like the fresh dew in the breath of the morning
Like the sweet rays that break forth at noon when it’s sunny
Like the tinny light that twinkles up late at night
So you are a gift as precious as life

You are a bundle of love, a jewel I’m sent to from above.
You make the sun shine on cloudy days
When I’m sick, you kiss the pain away.
Your prayers take away my fears
Your hand wipes away my tears.
The love you give is so honest and pure
It kept me going safe and secured

You are a precious gift I can’t replace
You brought me home to a wonderful place
You bought me my first toy
You filled my heart always with joy
You taught me how to cook and bake
You gave me morals through your cane
You taught me the A,B,C….
You filled the family with love to see
You are the best, Mum; you stand out from the rest.

Creativity flows in me like a stream
Not just me but a motherly dream
You passed the craft to me looking no further
From the umbilical cord of being October
You are one woman creative than others
A beauty queen in the kingdom across the borders
An industrious teacher married to the preacher
From whose breasts I nourished as a child
And whose tender love gave me life.

You could never be appreciated enough Mum
For the gift of just being you
Your special love and care can’t be compared
The tie that bind and the bond that can never be broken
Mother’s love is forever branded in my heart
Even when everyday her words aren’t spoken.
You are God’s gift to us all: EBUNOLUWA
My Mum, My Queen, My Jewel and My Gift

POETRY AN ACT OF ART...

Poetry is like love making,
Where the pen and paper engage in deep kissing.
The mind goes back and forth thrusting,
While the fingers smooch the paper caressingly.

Poetry is like love making where the body, heart and soul works in trinity
Imagination turns to reality and the groove wipes away sanity.
In the darkness of your heart, poetry lights up your life
Taking you to climax, everyday feels like Christmas
Ideas jerk inside and creativity ejaculates smoothly outside
With no heartbreaking, no tears falling and no Orgasm faking

Poetry is love, a gift sent from above
Like a dove in the sky, it perches gently on my mind
It holds me spell bound in my radical manhood
And reminds me how I started from my little childhood.

I wonder if i can tease and please you with words
Just to strike your hearts chord
Words are as cool as honey
Capable of making you feel warm and funny

Poetry is an art,
Ideas painted on paper
Like Michael Angelo did, working with a scrapper
Davinci did, painting the last supper.

Poetry is the sound of music
The sweetest rhythm and rhymes
The words that will make you shiver
The best sound timely delivered

Poetry is life, poetry is love
Poetry is every idea beyond and above
Poetry is spiritual, the language of the gods
Poetry is you, poetry is me
Poetry is in every air that we breathe.

POETRY "N" MY BELIEVES

Poetry is like love making
where the pen and paper engage in deep kissing
the mind goes back & forth thrusting
And the fingers smooch the paper lovingly & caressing.
Poetry is like love making
Where the body, heart and soul works in trinity
Imagination turns to reality and the groove wipes away sanity.
In the darkness of your heart, poetry lights up your life.

I wonder if i can use words to do a little intellectual love making
with no heart breaking, no tears falling & no Orgasm faking.
I wonder if i can tease & please you with words
just to strike your hearts chords.
Words are as cool as honey
capable of making you feel warm and funny
Remember..
In the beginning was the word and the word was with God & the word was God.
All things were made through the word & without him nothing was made.
I believe in spoken words
I believe words are sharper than piercing swords
I believe in Love making
I believe in Unity, I believe in Sanity
I believe in positivity
I believe in optimism
I believe our word is our bond
I believe our bond is our song
I believe our creed that says
I believe
That Faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life
That the brotherhood of men transcend the sovereignty of nation
That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise
That government should be of laws rather than of men
That earth great treasure lies in human personality
And that Service to humanity is the best work of life.

These are my beliefs;
I believe in Spoken words
I believe words are sharper than piercing swords
I believe in no Tension
I BELIEVE IN ONE NATION
I believe in me, I believe in you
I believe in JCI.......!

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT..

A poet is a man who uses is pen and pads to give expression to the accumulated wisdom of the community he lives in.
His aim is to entertain as well as to Instruct, and to do that he makes use of vivid and imaginative language.

A poet is a man skilled in and concerned with language.
The poems that he writes reflect the realities of the world he lives in; it paints pictures of the mind.

A poet does not use prosaic language.
He does not want to just ‘tell’ us his experience, he want us as we read to be able to relive it imaginatively.

A poet is someone who cares about language
The words of poetry are compressed, charged with meaning and significance.

A poet must be dynamic
Sometimes a poet chooses words which are not especially unusual but which are used in unusual ways for a particular effect.

Some understanding of figurative language is essential for writing and reading poetry.
Figurative languages are language which is not used in literal way but still makes sense. E.g. metaphor, simile, Personification, Oxymoron…..etc

When reading a poem, you have to go beyond the obvious surface meaning.
It could be deeper than you imagine.

A poet usually makes use of rhymes and rhythm also known as sound of poetry.
He’s also particular about the pace, pattern, structure and metre of the poem.
You need to train your ears has a reader so that you can hear how a poem sound with a particular attention to the rhymes.
(The repetition of consonant sound is alliteration; that of vowel sound is called assonance)

Poets are mostly passionate and emotional which makes their writing exceptional. (Poetry is spiritual)

Poetry is as diverse as the human beings who write it.
So to the readers The General Rule of Engagement is:
Read a poem with as alert and open mind as possible, thinking steadily and carefully about the details and the total effect of the poem.

The best way of dealing with a Poem.
  1. Read it through completely at first stage.
  2. Read it again several times, thinking more carefully than the first. Checking the main point.
    1. i. The choice of words and its ordering.
    2. ii. The rhythm of the poem
3. Read through the poem again, aiming to get a renewed sense of how it works as a whole.
To appreciate poetry fully, you should be able to form your own judgment.
Try to develop your own critical thinking.

Once you truly understand a good poem, you will almost certainly realize that the writer could not have expressed himself in any other way. You will realize why he did not write in prose- and be glad he did not.

Remember that the mother of all poetry is writing.
Though some write poetry for the ears, some write for the eyes, some for the page and others for the stage.

EX-LOVERS......

Thinking about the loves of the past,
All the loves that didn't last.
All my loves of yesterday,
I wonder where they are today,
The close moments that we shared,
The loving words that said we cared.

I think about the ones that knowingly
led me into a wrongLUSTing relationship
And those that were down for a longLASTING one.
I sit by myself and I wonder why,
One day they're here and next they're gone,
I understand that life goes on,
Still I wonder if it was meant to be,
Are they happier without me

And if we ever meet again,
Could the passion be the same?
Would the old fires start to burn?
Could loving thoughts ever return?
Or are unspoken words left unsaid,
Should the past be left for dead?
Or should the embers be ignited instead?
Sometimes you have to realize the die is cast,
Nothing can ever change the past,
Still You wonder if it was meant to be,
Are they happier without me?

"Friends come, Friends go; in the end, we're our only hero". We would like many, and love a few; some would love us back, others won't; some would go, new replacements would come; in the end, what'll be would eventually be, regardless of what we desire, or wish....Lyrical poet

MISSING AFFECTION

She stopped calling me
Wonder why she stopped buzzing me
Cared but cared no more
Like an old song in Baltimore
I used to be her first thought at dawn
I could see in her true desire burn
We are good friends never engaged
Her love for me I've always envisage
Slowly but surely I move on the stage
Planting a tree of Love and courage
Watering it with Loyalty and haulage
But all feelings she locked in cage
Keys of emotions thrown away
As the storm made the tree sway
Sadness in me spread on page

I still recall the movie star
The piano weaves and the drum scar
I still could see the color of her eyes
Her gloaming smile is one of a kind
Wish I could taste the wetness on her lips
Wish to hold firm to her colossal hips
Wish I could lay my head on her twin hills
And do to her as she will
Wish I could place a kiss on her dimples
Wish a warm hug could save me from my wrinkles
Though Emotions waving in me like ripples
Slowly but surely could have made our life simple
But she believe I’m not straight
And too late for her to relate.
Now that I need her on a date
She has since closed against me her golden gate.

THIS IS IT....

Not like I used to feel
Not like I felt on wheels
This feels much more different
Taking over total preference
Igniting my passion to heal
Revoking my license to kill
The balm that takes the pain
The strongest link in the chain

Here the sun smiles still
The moon sits on the apex hill
The wind blows mild
Sometimes the tide grows wild
The bird’s whispers sweet
Lying pebbles on the creators feet

This is it
A cozy place to sit
A place of no heat but of melodious beat
Here dreams comes to reality
Life kisses with alacrity
The rain drizzles softly
Painting the sky in lines of colours
The sun lights the way
Showing passage to the rainbow’s treasure

In her eyes is an unending peace
The spirit that opens all pending gifts
The key to my doors of treasure
Bringing pleasure with her kind and loving gesture
By her side is the future
With a mysterious shopping nature
Clinically domesticated, intellectually sophisticated
This is my motivation, this is my destination
This is life, this is Love
This is it.
