LET IT BE KNOWN (SUNSET ON OUR PROTEST)

It was just few days we clocked 60
It's obvious the country's destiny is dark and Misty
Taken aback by these old politicians
Playing tricks on us like a silly magician.
The youth have been accused of being lazy and not ready,
But they proved everybody wrong by standing up to ask for their rights.
Peacefully, slowly and steady
Gradually, the needy moved against the greedy.

Let it be known, that the youth demanded from it's government accountability and social justice
They stopped watching Netflix and hit the streets
They cried out in one voice, knowing that the country is there's with no choice.
End Police brutality, End Bad governance, End Corruption all in a metaphor of #EndSARS.
Let it be known that the protest was organized and peaceful
Demanding the government to do the needful
It span on for 2 weeks, but our government is greedy and  just too weak.
To our agitation they were not ready to listen, all they care about is the revenue they are loosing.
So they send in thugs to infiltrate and disrupt
Giving reasons to make use of Military force.

Let it be known that on 20th October 2020, the army's crocodile smiled.
In Lekki, on unarmed protesters the Soldiers were shooting from a mile.
They shut down the lights aiming to take our lives.
Pandemonium at the toll-gate, while the youths stood their grounds
Singing the national anthem also waving the country's flag.
It was a black Tuesday, they leave behind sorrow, tears and blood
They drenched the Nigerian flag with her tomorrow's future blood.

Let it be known that this government is a coward, they negotiated with terrorists, but refused to negotiate with her youths.
It was a planned massacre, they imposed an emergency curfew, they waited till night and shutdown the lights.
They refused ambulances access to help
They carted away our fallen heroes in their shelves.
Now; they denied it never happened, obviously our future has been traded, I'm so saddened.

Tell them the Sun will rise again and the youth will take their rightful place.
Never again will we be silenced #SòròSoke
Never again will we allow "kakistocracy" a system where the government is run by the worst of us to lead the best of us.

Let it be known. ✊✊✊
